B-T, R-P fall in state titles, Caledonia takes 3rd

MADISON – He’s 6-foot-10. He’s the fourth-ranked player in the class of 2015 on rivals.com. And he was too much for Blair-Taylor High School’s boys basketball team to handle.

In the WIAA Division 4 state championship Saturday, junior Diamond Stone had 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks in leading Whitefish Bay Dominican to a 74-50 win at the Kohl Center and its third consecutive state title.

Caledonia a win from state title shot

The Caledonia High School boys basketball team is a game away from a state championship berth.

That's something it hasn’t done since head coach Josh Diersen, and assistant Jeremy Leis, helped it win back in 1997.

Central girls a game from state

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. - The shooting wasn't there, so Brittany Baldwin did what any good player does when the jumper isn't falling.

The 5-foot-7 senior guard got to the free-throw line. Baldwin went 7-for-10 from the stripe, scored 15 points, dished out seven assists and had seven rebounds in leading the Central High School girls basketball team to a game from the state tournament.
