Undefeated vs. undefeated. No. 1 vs. No. 2. Offense vs. defense.

The third round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs features two teams that have gotten here by different means.

Oshkosh North and its read-option offense vs. Holmen and its 3-4 defense. The two teams kickoff at 4 p.m. Saturday at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wis.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. - Another year, another outstanding finish, it’s almost become expected the Logan High School boys put on a show at the WIAA state cross country championships.

Saturday, the Rangers showed just what it means to compete as a team. Nobody finished in the Top 10 at The Ridges Golf Course. Nobody was in the Top 20 or the Top 30, either.

Winona's Bailey back at state

NORTHFIELD, MINN. - Winona Senior High School has a lot of tradition when it comes to cross country.

Garrett Heath and Elliott Heath were state champions all over the place - cross country, skiing, track ... maybe even juggling if it were a sanctioned sport - the two went on to be All-Americans at Stanford and are now competing at the Olympic level.

Jon-Michael Brandt followed in their footsteps and is now a senior at the University of Iowa.
