Officials for the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway announced today that the staff of the race track located in western Wisconsin will begin to protest winter starting on Friday. Although winter is very much part of the lifestyle based on the geographic location of the track, this winter has overstepped its bounds. "Enough is enough," speedway Promotional Director Dave Noelke stated.
February, race fans may purchase a single-event group ticket (four admissions, four beverages, four food items) valid for any regular event for $50 (a $72 value).
The first event of 2014, the Frostbuster, will take place April 27 - gates open at noon, first green flag at 2 p.m. The regular season will commence on the evening of May 17, featuring weekly racing through late August.
Other key dates on the 2014 schedule will include the June 14 Smash O' Rama, Racing and Fireworks on July 3, the Tundra Super Late Models on July 26, a Trailer Race on August 2 and the popular Eve of Destruction on September 6. The Midwest's oldest and most prestigious short-track racing weekend, the Oktoberfest Races, will conclude the 2014 season Oct. 2-5.
In 2014, race fans will have the opportunity to see more double-feature nights for the NASCAR Late Models. In addition, the fan favorite buck nights will take place twice, plus a new Street Stock division, and the always fun and thrilling novelty will entertain the guests at LaCrosse Speedway. The detailed 2014 schedule will be released in mid-February.
